Brief Description:  windscreen fairing sanding-2

Cut short sections of pvc tube in 1" to 3" diameters and glued sandpater 60 grit to them. Also glued same grit to some tounge depressors and small chuncks of block to help me get the windscreen sanded to the tape edge around the lower windscreen fairing. This is very slow and tiedious work. I think Ive doubled my sanding workload because of the glass cloth and epoxy over lapping the tape edge so much. Got to sand down slowly to find the edge and then work the edge without messing up the windscren.

After I got the lower fairing sanded to the tape edge, I worked the upper fairing over the top again and the edge again.

With the tape clear and edge defined, I decided to lay in a third layer of electrical tape on top of the other two for added security during sanding and perhaps a tad more of an edge with epoxy for strength.

Mixed a batch of epoxy with cottonflox and black pigment and made jelly thick and then filled all the depressions and voids I still had in the fairing. I then smoothed a bit with the spatula. This means more sanding tomorrow and again getting the edge back in places. But its getting closer!
