Brief Description: Canopy handle and latch lever trim
I might be conservative on how long I spent on this but.. 1. rounded the aluminum handle
2. ran 3/16 reamer thru the handle plate and latch lever for the screw
3. Sanded and scotch bright the handle stem and stem base so the brass bushing fit flush and rotated w/o binding and also so that the handle fit on.
4. A series of mark and trim sessions began. I would put the handle in place with the lever in closed position and canopy closed, mark where the nub on roll bar and latch met and would trim and sand and grind as necessary to fit. It looks good BUT IS TOO LOOSE! I need to order another one and will simply trace this one on to the blank and fudge the line to fit better by !/16 or more. Ill simply cut up near the line and start sanding to fit. I should have little problem next time around.
5. I do notice that my handle interfears with the skirt. I will need a bushing with I.D. 1/2" and narrow wall thickness to act as a spacer of possibly 1/4" max so it wit clear. I will look into that as well..
