Brief Description:  engine baffle gap seal final and hinge pin retaini

Today I wanted to get the final engine baffle gap seals installed. I decided to use what I had previously cut out and drilled after taking the cowl top on and off half dozen times. The left side is the worst though it will work. Im hoping the engine heat will flex it to fit better but we will see. It fits well enough with the cowl and I trimmed the last pieces a bit for looks and then rivited in place.

I then made card templates for the vertical cowl pin handels and made the final clips from some scrap aluminum. Drilled them and then match drilled to the cowl. Countersunk and rivited in place on both sides of cowl. The cowl pins have long enough handels so I can push it down under the clip and let go and it springs up into the clip and wont go anywhee.

I then installed the top cowl with all its pins and put in the retaining screws for the horizontal pins and then installed the 3 screws on each inside intake areas near the spinner. I will look at installing another clip for the two top cowl pins at the firewall tomorrow. Not sure I need them but will look at it tomorrow.
