Brief Description:  carburator to engine mounting

Mostly wasted time today. I looked all thru my plans and instruction manuels and could not find anywhere how the carb and control cable is to be oriented on the engine. I looked thru some pics I had taken a few years agof a friends rv8 and there was a photo that showed me what I wanted.
So I loosely mounted the carb into position with the carb facing such taht the drin plug is facing and the throttle and mixture levers on the right side. The bracket is sandwhiched inbetwen the engine and the carb with a gasket on both sides of the bracket. I loosely secured with flat washer and internal star lock washer and 5/16 nut coarse thread. The torque is to be 150 inch lb but Ill do that later. The bracket looks like its going away from where the cables come out of firewall and seems wrong but the pics of friends plane shows same orientation. Tjhanks friend!!

I then tried making a bracket for the red cube but 1.5 inch angle isnt quite big enough to reach without spacers. I drilled one 1/4 inch hole in bracket to see if it might work. I dont have proper hardware to attach yet but It might work. Im stopping again and will get some hardware and or see if I can get some bigger angle. This red cube has been a thorn!

I also removed the finger screen from oil sump just to check it. Ill let it drip dry for a day before reinstalling and safetying back up.
