Brief Description:  Engine cables sealed in with fire barrier on firew

Installed the plastic bushings on fwd side of firewall and then a smaller bushing snapped into the larger ones from the aft side of firewall. The smaller ones were cut to enable them to be installed over the cables.

Filled the area around the cables with firebarrier 2000 sealant

The bowden cable had a rubber oring installed so I used a piece of fire sleeve cut to diameter of the heat shields cup, drilled a center hole and sealed it with fire barrier to the firewall and then more sealer inside the shield. Attached it to the firewall with two stainless steel machine screws with lock nuts.

The other two shields gave me fits. They needed to be drilled to fit around the cable. I started with a two piece type shield and that wasnt very easy to drill as the drill would catch an edge and bent the heck out of it. I even sliced my finger good doing this. I finally got it using dremmel and grinding stone. The other one I just used a single piece shield and drilled the hole up and slod up the cable like I did on the bowden cable.

Applied generous amount of sealant to the area around the cables and slid the shields into place. Needed to enlarge the mounting holes slightly but eventually got these things on. I misplaced a pair of stainless steel screws, so ill finish up next time with that

If The cables dont require further adjusting, which at this point I dont see why they would, I will be ready to install the front top skin next. Looking forward to getting that on.
