Brief Description:  Trim tab servo wire connection-2

1. Shrink wrap to each of the 5 d-sub connections and then a single larger shrink wrap over the bundle.
2. looped the uneven wires and tied to self with wax wire string.
3. removed left elevator to look at possibly installing plastic bushing in rear horizontal stab spar and running wire bundle thru it. After considering it and looking at it I decided I didnt like the wire wrapping all the around the servo and then exiting the elevator thru same hole as the actuating screw operates thru. I also realized that I wouldnt be able to diconect the wire bundle on the fuse deck and remove the elevator without cutting wires thus voiding the reason for the molex connection idea in the first place. I have sen others exit the elevator inbd rib thru the horn bracket lightnig hole and so I decided on this route.
4. Drilled #3 hole in the inbd rib as described and deburr. Install rubber grommet
5. Ran the wire bundle thru the grommet and re installed the servo
6. I made sure my d-sub connections worked with 9v battery
7. Prep 5 conductor wire bundle from fuselage and crimped on 5 male open barrel pin for the molex connectors. This took considerable time as I had to aquint myself to this new open barrel crimper tool. I also had pins good for 18-22 awg wire and I have 24 AWG so I had to double back the conductors before crimping into the pin. I then folded over the wing tabs and crimped on to the insulators as strain relief. No pics here....I forgot.
Most of the time today had to be due to thinking thru the wire route and then figuring out how to crimp the pins for molex connectors.
