Brief Description: Remove foam fromHS tips and glass in VS tip
Brenda took the chisel and carefuly removed the rigid foam from the HS tips and then ceaned off the residual foam with acetone. I imagine it would have been much simpler to just pour acetone in on the foam and let it dissolve and wipe clean but...
Made foam inserts for the VS tip and placed in the VS and match drilled #40 and clecoed to keep the tip firmly against the skin. I then went back and final drilled to #30. Removed for drburring and countersink the aluminum and dimpled the skin
Made a batch of west systems epoxy and cut some strips of BID glass and wetted them inside the HS tips around the edges as reinforcements. I used the example shown in ch 6 of the build plans. A popsicle stick and acid brush wored fine. I like the acid brush better if I shorten the bristles some with scissors. I also weted the rigid foam surface on VS and laid on 1 layer of BID, clamped to hold shape and laid face down on wax paper
