Brief Description:  Drill anchor block to F807. Prep for canopy cuttin

1. Reinstalled the left and right canopy rails and the frame. Checked for smooth operation and for some reason was a bit tight. Removed and tweaked a tad and reinstalled-operates nicely. Also checked the aft most section of frame for the 5/8 to 3/4 inch clearence over the rail cap. Seems to be a tad high now. Hmmm. Will give this a tweek later.
2. The frame closes into the receptical and has a guide/lock pin that inserts into an anchor block. This block needs to be drilled and secured to the bulkhead f807 so that the pin lines up when closing. The way I will accomplish this is by holding block in position while I close the frame all the way and then drilling from the face of the F807 into the block. I first made measurements of the block and also how far below the flange it sits and then transfered the measurements to the taped F8-7 bulkhead. Once satisfied, I pilot drilled 1/16" and then checked
3. Withe anchor block removed, Drilled it to #27 for #6 screws, deburred, dimpled the F807. Then machine CS the fwd face of block and counterbored the aft side 5/16" and 1/4 inch deep as per plans dwg44 detail A. This cant be correct!!!
Note: The 6-R10 screw called out is in no way long enough even with proper countersink and counterbore. I think a 6-R12 will be needed so this needs to be ordered. WTH??
The nut is a press fit and will work as called for but the washer will in no way fit! I can clamp the washers in vice grip and redoce the diameter enough on the scotchbrite wheel.
4. Spent some time contemplating the first cuts on the canopy. I even positioned it on the frame after clecoing the front upper skin in place to see if that provided any drive to get started. Nope! I chickened out and need to review some more and make a better plan.
Time for some wine and relaxation, hangar style!
