Brief Description: Dynon EMS firmare update and misc wiring fix
Installed insulator boots to the P-leads at the Magnitos Got my EMS updated with latest firmware. If I put down the actual hours on this fiasco, Id have another 5 hours to add not counting emails to dynon and back. The problem was getting the driver installed for the USB to serial converter plug that was supplied. Guess what it was??? All I can say is, when I used a similar plug I purchased several years ago from Best Buy electronics for my Garmin 196 updates, It worked for this without any bull crap problem. Plugged in, driver loaded automaticly, hooked to EMS, wham bam thankyou very much! So I got the latest firmware loaded without further issue and then played around with persomnal pages that can be altered and loaded as well. Pretty neat! I then went thru my sensors and made sure they were set with correct settings I still couldnt get the orange light to illuminate when a warning came up on the Dynon. It also has a test button to push to test the light and that didnt work either. I then tested the light and it worked. Finally discovered a flaw in my wiring for it and fixed but it failed to work. I think I may have a setting in the ems off possibly. Decided I didnt want the orange panel light for EMS warnings as the ems display has its own red warnings that come on and flash anyway. I ran the light wires to some other spares I have for ems and labled and tied up for possible later use. Might use it for parking brake being set or something. will see. This can be done after flying stage anyway. I still dont have audible warning either. That too could be a setting in the ems. I will double check wiring tomorrow. Other than that, Its control cables and then the upper fwd skin time. I glued on a piece of edge protectant to the baggage floor stiffner to protect the brake line some.
