This post is to show the rear wire routing of the garmin 696 gps. I at first though I needed to cut angle again but figured out how the wires run and it became a non issue. The picture below (3) shows the entry location and the wires easily enter and connect to side of gps and then just shove the unit into mount and turn lock wheel. No problem. The top wire is the external gps antenna wire. The middle is the XM weather sat wire. The bottom is the power and interface wire bundle hook up. I can easily remove the gps with this set up. This brings up another problem for me how ever. If I want to mount the XM weather antenna under engine cowling, I wont have the antenna to use in my Citabria so how long do I wait? I can still use the GPS in Citabria without it because the unit has a built in antenna for gps and I use Cig adapter or battery for power in citabria. Oh well... I figure out something.

Spent the rest of my time at hangar before it got too hot trying to decide where to put a master kill switch for the auto pilot which I didnt plan for. I also need one for the stall warning horn and not sure where I will locate it either
