Manual Reference:  8-65
Brief Description:  Aft upper bulkheads-1 and odds and ends

1. Removed forward baggage shelf to gain better access to spray paint forward cockpit floor and then masked the firewalll and powdercoated parts and cleaned surfaces with naphtha. Spray painted the fwd floor and panels.

2. Since the VS is off I decided to add some rivits to the front spar andspacer/attach bracket and also finish setting the rivits that I couldnt reach while it was installed. The bootom row was 8/32 in edge spacing at best but two rivits in that row were more like 7/32nds. Had called Van's on this and they suggested just adding a few rivits inbetween the bottom row of rivits to share the load. I did this with 3 rivits except kinda inbetween the bottom and middle rows and closer to the bottom row to be sure they share the load there. Turned out well.

3. Cut some rubber chanel for the fuel filter bracket to 2.5 inches each side.

4. Filed some more on the "up" rudder stop. I should probably leave it alone now that I have nearly 29 degrees when measured obd end and 28 on inbd ends. That way if I have to adjust the elevator rod ends later I have some cushing.

5.Made the optional tiedown ring storage plates: Fabricated nut plates with some scrap aluminum .045 sheet by cutting out to shape then drilling for 2 #30 rivit holes and 1 3/8" hole for the nut. Rivited the plates to left and right bulkhead corne gussets behind rear seat. JB welded the 3/8 nuts to the plate on bottom of gussets.Let dry and check strength tomorrow.
