Brief Description:  Put in temporary plywood floor in tail cone

1. Removed my inflight adjustable rudderpedal assembly from cockpit floor. removed aft elevator push tube and pivit assembly. Removed the rudder and the vertical stab.

2. Decided to drill and set the 2 an426ad4-5 keeper rivits in the aft bulkhead and tailwheel weldment. Though I already fit the VS w/o them, it bugged me that they were missing.

3. Masked some powder coated parts etc so that I could spray some more primer along the cockpit walls. I will also primer the cockpit floor. Have not decided on a top coat yet but decided it will be rattlecan paint. I think it just makes since in such a small area. Ill save the professional paint job for the exterior.

4. Marked and cut out the 2 floor panels acording to dimensions listed on dwg 85

5. Since I now have better access to the elevator up stop I filed a bit more on it for a slight bevel and got the upward deflection now to 28.2 when measured on the last row of rivits on each elevator. The measurements go from 27.3 on inbd to the 28.2 obd and the are almopst identical from left to right elevator. I must have a small twist or something. I dont know if I will try to get to 29 nor 30 degres or not since I have them well with in the limits of 25 to 30 degrees listed in ch 15. I might ask for some advice on this.

6. Laid the plywood floors in the tail cone and had my bucking babe try it out. She said its comfy! I wonder if she will be saying that later when she's in there bucking in the turtle deck skin???
