Dynon engine monitor EMS 120 is what will be used for fuel quantity display. The monitor takes you thru the process and the first step is to fully drain the tanks. I had about 2.5 gal in each wing so I drained them. The next step is to just hit start and it calibrates a starting value for zero and then instructs to add 2 gal of fuel and hit the ad button and then repeat until tank is full and the last step is to just hit full and finish and then do the same for other tank. This process took awhile because I had to get 5 Five gallon gas cans filled and then a 1 gallon container to use to fill the tank with. 1 gallon was used because the 2 gallon container I had was a bit hard to handle without spilling. So, I added 1 gallon at a time hitting add on Dynon every two gallons. When I got done with the left wing I repeated the same process for the right wing. Things to note: I was only able to get 19.75 gallons in the tank. That means 1.25 gall is undrainable. Also, my floats must top out early and so there isnt any more measument changes for the dynon after 16 gal. This means the tank level bar will show full early at 16 gal instead of 20 or 21 gal. It will be necessary to not assume that a full tank is done by other means than just using the gauge. At 16 gal and below the gauge should be accurate in 2 gal incements to empty which is more important. The Dynon also has a numerical value for full which is correct at 42 gallons as that is what I entered as full tanks and thei number changes as fuel is metered thru the redcube and will hopefully be quite accurate. I will let it sit for leak checks tonight and then drain fuel back down to 7 or so gallons per side for first flight fuel.
