Brief Description:  cowl pin alternate set up

OK, so Ive probably confused anyone looking at my logs on this cowl pin set up now. So let me explain. I had purchased the stainless steel pins with the attach tabs pre welded on. I was gonna use them but decided on using a hinge pin cover instead. Well.......I decided to cut these other pins to length, Taper theends and flatten the first 2 inches etc for easy insertion and then travel thru the first several eyelets that are on a slight radius. I then worked the slot in the split line to recieve the welded portion of the tab and then bent the pin near the tab so that it would lay flush. So now its ready to drill a hole in the cowl for the tab to attach and add the plate nut. I still have the oval cut out area marked as well. My plan is to talk with my DAR and ask when he can come for inspection and also if he has an issue with the cowl pins not being secure yet. If he does, I might just do the quick plate nut install for inspection puposes and then work the hing pin cover cut outs later when temps improve and the airplane is flying. If he doent have an issue with pins being incompletye, then I might start the cut outs and bring cowl home for some glassing for the covers to fit against. So what I have now is 2 options to go with. Hope that is clear as low overcast!
