The oil door to this point is the result of three days combined into one post. I started with sanding the edges of the cowl door recess the best I could using a nail file or emery board and sand paper and various emplements of destruction.
The door was cut to final width and length to fit opening
the hinge and spacers cut and then rivits spaced out and drilled
cut outs made for latches and sanded and beveled in the opening
Latches drilled to door
all hinge rivits and latche rivits counter sunk
All rivits installed
Door clecoed to cowl to check and admire the fit.
The edges around the door can be filled with some epoxy to even out the gap lines
The latch aft side need a shim to tighten the fit some
there are many pin holes requireing fill too!!
So the door still has more work before calling it done but the worst is over I think...Its functional at this point.
Taped fitted door in place with the hinge clecoed in for match drilling to door
Door latch opening made and drilled as well as hinge
