Only pictured the tag that came with the vans supplied stewart oil cooler. Many builders as well as the company say to use stel fittings into the cooler but the Vans supplied fittings are aluminum. Well, I agree with all that is said on the other side of the fence mostly with the galling of the two dissimlar metals and such, but if properly lubed and sealed and carefully tightened, the aluminum fitting should be just fine. This is not something that should need to be removed anytime soon anyway. As far as fittings in engine compartment needing to be steel....well, This oil cooler will melt before a steel fitting anyway so....enough on that.

I applied permatex high temp lube sealant to the threads on the two big elbows from oil cooler and tightened down clocking to where the lines will curve into nicely. Marked with torque seal. I then attached the oil lines and torqued and sealed.

I lubed the fittings for the fuel ine from engine pump to carburator and tightened. The flex hose joining those fittings is up against the left tail pipe support hanger and will require some adjustment.

Lube and tighten the fuel pressure line fitting
