Brief Description: Final install of VS and emp fairing adjustment
Went to a fly in this morning and it was getting hot quick. In the 80s and hummid by the time I left at O930. Its 92 now and the heat isnt doing me any favors. I did manage to install the VS and torgue the harware. Also cut enough clerance into the empenage fairing to accomodate the elevator horns thru full rotation up or down.
All hardware was torqued to spec and torque seal added.
Point to notice is the 3rd bolt added to the VS aft spar inbetween the 2 outer ones. This was originally a 3/32 hole used for positioning during initial fitting process. I decided to enlarge it and reamer to 3/16 for a clean additional bolt. I wasnt happy with one of the outer holes that ended up slightly out of round and I thought a Third hole drilled after all other hardware was installed would ease any stress on the poorly drilled hole. So now I have an additional hole and bolt. Im confident that this is stronger than original.
