Brief Description: New ram air intake cut in to intake ramp
Removed the front left baffle assembly and clamped to the work bench
I had marked where I want the ram air intake to be previously and so I set the fly cutter to slightly less than 1 inch radius to give me a just under a 2 inch hole and cut the hole using a hand drill. Yes, a hand drill ! I dont advise this as it is very difficult to stay in position and not allow the cutter to dig in etc. So I went slow but eventually got it.
Cleaned up the hole and placed the Duct flange in position and drilled the 4 mounting holes.
Located my metal screen and cut to fit the flange base and then drilled the 4 mounting holes in it as well.
Put a bead of fire barrier 2000 silicone around the edge of both sides of the screen and clecoed the screen and flange to the inlet ramp to dry.
Will rivit the mounting holes tomorrow
