Brief Description:  Windscreen fairing-3

First task was to get canopy open again after the layup. Pulling didnt work and the rope didnt help. Stuck tight. At leas I was aware of the possibility. Lightly banging on it with my hand was of no use. I didnt have an old credit card with me which Ive heard helps break the bond from the tape and wax but I found my chip chaser which is real flexable and thin like the credit card. I slid it in from aft edge being careful to not scrape under the electrical tape and then worked it all the way around including the overlap on the skirts. This time when I pulled on the canopy, It opened with ease!

I masked off the inside lip and traced a trim line on the aft edge so that I dont have too much fairing but enough to give good overlap of the canopy bow.

Trimmed with dremmel and then block sanded. I can see at this point that its way too thin on aft edge.

More electrical tape went on with wax. Closed her up and lay in 2 more layers of 8 oz glass 2 inch wide and 1.25 inch wide using fast drying epoxy. I then covered with peel ply.

4 hours later, I pulled the peel ply and went to open canopy. No go again but the same procedure as the first time did the trick.

Made another trim of excess on aft edge and sanded the edge. This is much better ut I think the edge is still too flexable. I dont know if I should do another layer or two or just apply generous amount of epoxy with cotton flox. Ill think it over before doing anything more today

Not a bad day. Got the canopy open after a glas in, not just once, but twice! Woot!!
