Brief Description:  Refit the left aft baffles to cowling and fit oil

I fit the left aft case baffle and oil cooler mount to the cowling usoing paperclips etc. After many many itterations of removing the cowl and cutting, I moved on to the #4 cylinder baffle and did the same there. It shoulkd be pointed out that the baffle kit has really gotten chopped up to fit. Sorta hard to believe because I thought It was going to be fairly easy. Not so. This kit is for all the RV series and the side by side planes have a wider engine compartment with less cklearence isues. Not so with this RV8. The lift side has given me fits clearence wise.

I made a spacer strip from two pieces of 032 and fitted to the oilcooler brace and mount
I cut the opening for the oil cooler and cleaned up the edges. Drilled all the rivit holes in the mount and then transfered them to the cylinder baffle flange as well. This was a time consuming process!

Cut the brace for the oil cooler and drilled a couple of new holes for rivits. Also had to trim the top to provide appropriatre clearence with the cowl again.

Had Brenda deburr everything

For a brief time, I had the oil cooler mounted with clecos and checked the fit of cowling. It fits but with minimal clearence. I will leave it and see if I have any marring of the cowl after engine runs. I can always sand the honey comb in that area for a smidgeon more clearence.

Cant Bebieve I forgot to take pictures of this mess. Ill get some tomorrow.
