Brief Description:  Bottom cowl basic fitting

Most of my time on this basic fitting process was just trying to figure out how to raise it into position and secure it. Should the bottom cowl be fitted inside the upper cowl or out side?? I ended up putting the horizontal edge under the upper and pulling up the cowl with straps. With it pulled up to the wood disc I have an issue. The left side firewall edge has nothing overlapping to cut. Infact, the gap is more than I want!. The right side is ok but only 1/4 inch to work with! WTH? Thanks for all the extra cowling Vans!! Vans say that 1/8 inch is minimum clearence with spinner and that is wherer im at. Wanted 1/4 inch but I ended up closer than expected and I can do some sanding to help this. But Vans should provide enough cowl to go to minimum with plenty of excess. They did not on this cowl anyway. So I guess I will need to build up the edge on left side before Im done with this. Other than that,m It looks like this beast will work out. Next on agenda will be to mark and trim bottom of the lower cowl and refit.
