Brief Description: Upper cowl fitting and drilling to upper fwd hinge
Removed the upper cowl and sanded the edge in the areas that were tight and marked for sanding . I also lightly sanded the length of edge for just a bit more gap. Trying to go just a little at a time.
Marked the center line for rivits along the fwd hinge that will attach to cowl. I then measured the distance from firewall edge to that line to be used to transfer to the cowl
Reinstall the cowl and secure with screws at front. Applied masking tape to top along the hinge line.
With a light under cowl, I traced a line along the fwd edge of hinge to the top of cowl on tape. The hinge outline can be sen thru the cowl this way.
Marked lines for rivits along the row of rivits on firewall edge and then went along all 47 lines and transfered the earlier measurement from edge. Center punched each position and then drilled #40 and cleco as I went. I started in the upper center and worked out to the sides.
I still need a bit more gap before I rivit this all up but its looking better than I was expecting.
