Brief Description: adjust fit of fwd upper skin and firewall hinge
The fwd upper fuselage skin was fitting too tight to get all clecos in on each side. I removed the clecos and skin and then sanded the upper edge of the panel in hopes that the skin would be relieved enough to fitt better. I sanded it and smoothed and then reattaced the skin. After doing this several times, I think the fit is better. It is still tight but was able to get clecos to fit along the bottom edge on both sides with the skin laying flat against the fuselage.
I removed the upper cowl to firewall hinges and counter sunk the previously drilled holes. The plans didnt say to do this but the firewall flange is dimpled and the hinge will fit better if countersunk enough to accomodate the dimples.
I also spent time trying to figure out if I should proced with cowl fitting or work on getting the upper skin rivited in place first.
