Brief Description: Installed the Filter airbox flap control cable
Carefully selected a spot on left gear tower for the FAB cable that would avoid the fuel vent line and brake line and wiring, as well as position well enough to operate easily. Once decided, I drilled the pilot hole and then ran thru fwd end of gear tower. Used a step drill to drill up to size.
Elected to use the pilot hole in firewall that was for the propellar control cable to use for this cable. Once drilled up, I installed a rubber grommet
Took a one piece heat shield cover and drilled the center hole up to clear the cable diameter but not so big that the grommet is exposed.
Installed the cable thru the three holes drilled and secured to aft geartower with supplied lock washer and nut and tightenedup
Ran the heat shield cover over cable up to the firewall and center punched the screw holes for the cover. Drilled and deburred and then installed the two srews and nuts.
The plan will be to fill with fire sealant under the cover and then install the cover for good later.
