Brief Description: Control cable grommets and heat shields drilled
Drilled the two holes in firewall up to 5/8 for the throttle and mixture control cables and deburred Installed two 5/8 snap bushings that have 7/16 inner diameter. When the vables are pased thru a smaller 7/16 OD bushing is slit to fit over cable and then snapped in from the cabin side into the larger bushing. Proseal or other fire sealant then is applied around it on firewall side.
Measured for hole center on two heat shields over the cable bushings and drilled mounting holes5/32 for two stanless mounting screws each. I will drill the center holes out later when installing the cables and then fill the cavity with fire sealant. This will work and also allows me to drill the holes larger for steel eyeball type grommets if I so choose to later. But for now this is the simpler and cheaper way to go.
The thrid hole is for the propellar control but I wont be using for that. I will either put a rivit in it or open up some for the carb heat cable. Undecided at the moment.
