Brief Description:  Wheels and brakes installed

Jacked up the fuselage again and inserted another set of concrete block so that I could get the wheels on. Secured on jack stands.

Installed just the wheel axles again to double check the toe out situation I had earlier. After Completing I verified I still had The tow out and mostly just the right side. I had purchased some shims from Vans and they came in. The single 1/2 degree shim on the right side seemed to do the trick. After reinstalling and checking as per plans, The problem seems fixed. There might be just a very slim toe out on left side but I think its splitting hairs and a .25 degree shim might be too much so Im leaving it. I have pics and they look perfect and so I wont bother to post them because I cant get the pics to show the slight gap.

Removed the axles and began the install with brackets and wheels etc. First Issue reared its head when the brake calliper interfeared with the wheel pant bracket. This required a series of removing and grinding away material untilll I had a good fit. Painted again before install.

I spent some time figuring out how the frakes are to be installed and getting the wheel. Remember, the plans describe the cvleveland brake asembly and these are Matco. So I had to go with both plans to do correctly.

Once I figured out the assembly I packed the 4 wheel bearings with aeroshell-22 grease as called for in Matco manual. My nifty wheel bearing gismo is crap for this because theese are sealed bearings and the grease wont push thru properly regardless of how I placed the bearing. Ended up doing most by hand or palm I shoukd say.

Once the wheel bearings were packed, I asembled the wheel on to the axle per plan with the Matco brake bracket on and the wheel bracket. Added the wheel nuts on to the axle. Here is where the instruction differs again. The sealed bearing requires some drag and is not to be installed where the wheel rotates freely as with unsealed bearings. It specifies to make certain the the bearing does NOT turn with the wheel. Once I had the tightness w
