Brief Description:  Mount axles, check alignment, mount tires,Pant brac

After filling my new wheel bearing packer with aeroshell 22 grease and settingf aside, I studied the plans and dwg 45 for how to install the axles and brakes and wheels. I noteed right away that the plans instruction is geared for the cleveland brakes instead of the supplied Matoc brakes and wheels. So it was not much use. I then read the booklet that came with the Matco wheels a couple of times and got started.

Temp mounted the axles to the left and right gear legs and then taped a pacer to each axle with electrical tape
Tied a string from one spacer to the other from the out board edge of each to see if they are parralell with eachother or if I need a shim. It looks like I might need a small 0.5 to 1 degree shim if any but I will buy some from vans and take another look with them to see. But They are very close to just right on.

I then went back and forth with the pants mounting bracket and axle and wheel and brakes to make sure I understood how they all mount together and once satisfied I removed them from the plane because I need to raise fuse anther * inches, and I need a couple of AN4-22 bolts. So I will order and then try and get this thing on rubber

Moved On to the wheel and tire asembly. Compressed tire with clamps with tube inside and talc. Made sure the stem was positioned as per markings on wheel and the matco instruction. With tire compressed I could verify that the tube was not going to be pinched inthe wheel haves during assembly. I bolted the whel haves together after inflating tube a little and verifying it wasnt twisted( before the tire was compressed) and then torqued to 100 inch pounds as per matco instruction. I then inflated tire and set aside and did the same to the other one

Moved on to the brackets for the wheel pants. Removed the plastic and finished the edges on the scotch brite wheel and then sanded surfaces with maroon pads
Marked the plate nut locations as per plans dwg45 ( 4 per each bracket) and center punched and drilled for Number 8 screw. I then used the plate nut
