I cant believe I didnt rivit those center bulkhead covers on yet. Dont wait too long because too much
stuff will get in the way! I had them clecoed on from yesterday so today I ran a #30 reamer thru all the holes not clecoed
Rivited all I could with LS4-3 rivits-about 35 of them and ran out. I placed an order for more with my buddies at Van's.
Removed most the clecoes and ran reamer thu those holes. I put the reamer in my pencil adapter for dremel wich made access to some of the holes possible.
Moved on to checking gear leg bracket attachment. Pulled the hardware and installed the inbd left brackets. This was not an exercise of torque checking but more to make sure it all fits as before and to make sure I know what will be involved with tool requiremnts to do it.
I made a shim out of .032 aluminum to put under the outer bracket inbetween it and the wear plate to possibly torqe check and then after making it I realized it wouldnt do anything without the gear leg installed as any shim size would allow the 240 in/lb torque but would do nothing about weather the gear leg thickness was torqued with same spacer. I think the only way to do this is to put the leg on and all the hardware and torque to 240 and check gap and then remove and file as necessary if gap too narrow. Its a laborious task but I dont see a short cut. So I abandoned further work on this and gatherd all the hardware together for later. Hopefully not too much later!
