Brief Description:  Left side pilot eyball light wiring and misc

Today I started with wiring my pilot left side eyball light and swich. I managed to get it soldered up and skrink wrapped and added the snake skin and routed and connectorized and labled BEFORE I realizided the error of my ways. Can you spot it? Well I had bench tested first but on position is fine and worked. When I flipped it off it went off so I thought it good and installed it. After install I checked again and this time when I turned it off I got smoke and nearly melted the wire leads from battery I use. What happened? Well, the switch has 3 tabs so its double throw I think. Any way it is an on on switch but should be wired as an on off single throw switch. The pos wire from light to the upper lug is correct. could have ben connected to either end depending on which position I want the switch lever to be in the on position. The center wire is incoming power and it is correct too. The problem is the black neg wire from light and the ground wire i soldered it to. OOPS!
As you can see, when you toggle the switch to off, the power wire and neg wire are connected and bypasing the light fixture! Just like runnung a wire from battery post to the other post. Lots of heat and smoke. Can believe I did that!! To fix, I will remove the neg wire fom the switch and ground to the mounting plate as I had done on other lights. I will remove the long ground wire from the switch and then cut off that lug.

I then checked continuity on my stick grip wiring and ran into problems with the front PTT switch. I thought I had a prob with the way I wird the front and rear PTT switches together so I re did them as single connections and wired to separate poles on the term block. Checked again. Still NO GO!
Further investigation I found that I have a short or loose connection in the stick grip because it worked when I pushed the wire bundle into the stick some and then quit when I tugged on it. Great! I get to remove it and fix now. At least I found it now.
