Brief Description: Radio tray mounting brackets rivited
Scuff, clean and primer the panel rear side. Also primered the mating surfaces of the angles that are to be rivited to the panel. Those angles are what the radio trays wil bolt to.
Backrivited the aluminum angles for the Garrmin 696 Rivited on the angles for the Garmin sl 40 and the Garmin transponder Tivited the Dynon EMS 120 tray in place temporarily installed the equipment into the trays to double check proper fit and then removed
Temp mounted the Panel and panel side skirts in to the fuselage. I will need to fabricate some supports for the other end of the trays later. Will also need them in place for wire work when Im ready for that
I also decided to measure for control stick length so that my Tolston grip will clear the underside lip of panel. I marked the cut line and then removed the stick and cut with hack saw. I need to determin where to drill the hole in stick for the wires to exit. Once I do that, I can put the grip in place and reinstall the stick to check if there is enough clearence. This particular grip sits on top of the stick and thus requires about 10 inches of stick to be removed. Looks real short after the cut too. More on that later...
Back rivit the angles for the com and nav equipment to panel back
