Brief Description:  Baffles and cowl fitting

Another day of fitting and trimming—making progress one snip at a time. Today’s primary focus was on getting the best possible fit at the front of the inlet ramps. The lower cowling was interfering with the left inlet ramp (or the left inlet ramp was interfering with the cowling—depending on how you look at the world) and thus had to be trimmed. As is often the case with things, how you look at the world drives what you do, and in this case, I decided to trim the inlet ramp.

As the pictures show, there isn’t much room left in the area around the air box, so careful trimming was in order. I’m a little surprised that this particular installation has been this tricky, but without totally remaking the snorkel (not a fun idea), there is no other way to get it all fitted in the space provided.
