Brief Description:  Nutplate installation and initial engine mount fit

To start the process of fitting everything that goes forward of the firewall, I first drilled out the holes to attach the transducer manifold. In order to bolt the manifold in place, it was necessary to rivet the firewall to the lefthand rib--something I had been waiting awhile to finish up. As I looked at the assembly, I felt comfortable that I could access everything I needed to with those two ribs permanently in place, so I got out the 4-4 rivets and secured it.

Next was the test fitting of the engine mount. The builder's manual suggests to not just drill out the holes to 3/8" as there might be some slight fit issues. First I drilled out the firewall tooling holes (after ensuring that the engine mount essentially lined up correctly), and then using some 2 1/2" AN3 bolts, attached the mount in place. In order to make sure I drilled the lower two center holes correctly, I used some bushings in each hole to center the AN bolts. After drilling the two holes, I removed the engine mount and cleaned everything up.

I'll get a 3/8" reamer from the Yard Store to finish the holes to final size. Enough for today.
