This morning's session was devoted to extensive plans study and the fabrication of the C-762/C-763 bracket that is the aftmost canopy attach point and the rail that the canopy slides along. The bracket takes a fair amount of time to make due to the way it must be drilled and attached to the upper fuselage skin. A lot of measuring, drilling, deburring and countersinking is required, and once that is done the pieces are primed and riveted together.
In addition to the rail, the nylon block that attaches the canopy to the rail must be drilled to the canopy frame and attached with an AN3-21 bolt. Pretty mundane stuff, but it has to be done.
