Brief Description:  Center fuselage construction

The RV-7 center section is made up of two bulkheads and both seat and baggage ribs and is a fairly substantial assembly. The center section begins life upside down after attaching the ribs in order to drill out the skin and F-623 ribs. I've found that once again the plans require a significant amount of study to ensure things are done correctly. Even with that, there are a couple of places where it's less than obvious how something is supposed to go, so repeated dry fittings are sometimes necessary to get everything in the right place.

Since I'm still waiting for two replacement ribs from Van's, I went ahead and modified the access seat ribs and the inboard seat ribs, and then used the scrapped ribs to assemble and match drill the center section. As soon as the ribs arrive, I'll put them in place, drill them to size, and then work the edges, deburr, dimple, and prime everything. Maybe I'll be riveting again in a couple of sessions. Still have to figure out what I'm going to do about the wire run through the F-704 center section...
