After dimpling all of the skins, I reassembled the structure to check for final fit before riveting. There are a couple of spots that I need to bend the bulkhead webs for better fit, and I still have to drill and dimple the rudder cable clamp attach points and drill out two more bulkheads for the rudder cable grommets. When I drilled the aft tailcone skin, I found several holes that had become elongated due to some misalignment of the skin. I e-mailed Van's to get their opinion on what to do and will wait on riveting until I have a plan. What does this all mean? I get to take all of the clecos out one more time!! Well, I'd rather get it right and be happy with the results...what's the rush?
