Busy day. I spent the session working on various bulkheads that form the fuselage aft of the baggage compartment. The F-706 and F-707 bulkheads are the primary attach points for the elevator bellcrank, so there are a number of odd pieces that make the subassemblies. This requires a great deal of fabrication...probably the most in one work session that I've done before. Most of it involves reinforcing bars and angles that are riveted on to the belcrank ribs and channels or further aft on the tail bulkheads. The bandsaw is a lifesaver, and most of the pieces came out really well.
At this stage, I'm getting close to another priming session, so I'm keeping an eye on the weather--hoping in vain for a warmer day on the horizon. This is Kansas in December...it could happen. All that's left to work on is the F-712 bulkhead, which contains the tail tie-down, the bellcrank itself, and then start assembling. Longerons are coming up soon!
