Brief Description:  F-705 construction

Tonight was spent fabricating a number of small parts that go on the top of the F-705 bulkhead assembly. This bulkhead sits immediately aft of the seats and forms the seat back attach points as well as the seat belt attach points. On the upper portion, there is a channel which allows the seats to be adjusted, and this channel is made by bending a 1 7/8" x .040" piece of aluminum along the length. Being a somewhat "low tech" guy, I simply clamped the piece between a 2 x 4 and the bench and whacked it with a deadblow hammer. Done.

From there it was a lot of measuring, checking, measuring again, and cutting. Then, after marking centerlines, I clamped everything together and match drilled through the F-705 channel. The last step involved cutting two 16-inch pieces of .063" angle to form the front section. These were cut and marked for drilling...I'll start the next session by drilling those in place.
