Brief Description:  Forward fuselage

There are times when no amount of staring at the plans will help me understand how something is supposed to go together. Today was one of those days. When building the structure forward of the instrument panel, one must fabricate a number of small attach brackets and drill them to various other pieces. The plans generally illustrate things pretty well, but every now and then it just doesn't make sense to me. This is when I proceed slowly and carefully...usually.

After fabricating the five small attach brackets I started consulting both plans and airframe and doing a lot of test fitting. It finally started to come together and when I felt confident in my placement, I got the drill out and drilled everything. It all worked and after two+ hours I didn't have a lot to show for my work. That's just the way it goes sometimes.

The next session will be priming and attaching nut plates to everything, then I'll probably start thinking about taking the wings back off and finishing up some odds and ends that have been undone for a couple of years.
