Brief Description:  Forward cabin covers & side rails

Today I finished up the forward cabin covers by adding four nutplates, two per side, that secure the center cabin cover to the floor stiffeners. Following this, I decided to test fit everything to make sure it all went together properly. I found some of the brackets needed a bit of adjustment, and I hope these covers don't come off very often once the aircraft is built--they are tough enough to install with no interior...can't imagine how tough to get to once everything else is in the way.

The next thing I worked on was making a couple of replacement brackets that I will use to install the forward fuselage tank attachment. When I first made the brackets, I apparently didn't get the proper edge distance and when I went through the parts this time I noticed it. Due to the lack of access with the wing on, I will wait until I pull the wings before I finish this assembly.

Finally, I started working on the cabin side rails and forward canopy decks. These were pretty simple, just needed to fit and drill to the longeron. Next session I will probably prime and install these parts to get ready for working on the forward skins and firewall.
