In today's session I continued with the various little projects that have to be done before closing the aft fuselage. The first thing I tackled was the elevator pushrod. The pushrod is made just like the aileron pushrods, but since the dimensions are different, the hole spacing must be adjusted accordingly. After marking and drilling the tube I inserted the endcaps and drilled those out. Priming will have to wait for a warmer day.
Next up was the bracket for the pitch trim servo. This bracket attaches to the rib running fore and aft from the aft baggage bulkhead, and in order to install it I had to drill four rivets out and then match drill the bracket to the rib. The plans were marginal, so I did my best with what I had and the job came out fine. Finally, I drilled three holes in the bottom of the bracket and match drilled the fuselage skin to complete the job. This bracket needs to be primed before installation, so it will go into the pile of parts awaiting that task.
