Up early this morning so I headed out to the hangar to knock out some odds and ends before I had to do some real work around the house. I first riveted the F-709 bulkhead to the aft deck, another task that I had put off for some reason, and then started working on the static line installation.
Last session I had drilled the holes for tie wrapping the static tubing to the bulkhead, so today I broke out some tie wraps and secured the tubing in place. After that was done I spent the next hour making small clips out of .025 sheet to hold the static line as it runs from the aft section of the fuselage to the instrument panel. Very low tech fabrication methods worked just fine as I used a 1/4" drill bit to shape the clips around.
That done, I drilled a couple of 3/8" holes in the two forward bulkheads, inserted a grommet in each, and then temporarily secured the static line along the longeron, stopping before I got to the F-04 bulkhead. I will do a little research before I drill through this in order to ensure that I don't put a hole where none should go.
