Brief Description:  Seat and center cabin construction

Today was devoted to riveting all of the parts that I primed over the weekend. Since most of these were seat parts, that's where I started. Riveting the seats went well, but was a little slower than I expected as it required changing rivet sizes, and riveting methods, a couple of times. I used the pneumatic squeezer on those rivets that I could reach, and I shot the rest with the gun. After finishing the seat backs I began attaching the six hinge strips to the cabin floors.

The biggest challenge with the seat pan/floor combination is the fact that the builder must rivet very flimsy hinges to a similarly flimsy floor (at least it's flimsy until attached to the floor ribs). The result of this was some tendancy for the hinges to stretch relative to the floor which caused a fairly prominent hump between two rivets on the L/H floor. After looking at it for a couple of seconds, I simply took a hammer and gently "persuaded" it back in place. Worked like a champ.

Finally, I riveted the center cover, and then put the cockpit side rails in place. I finished up by putting the seats into the fuselage and trying them out. My first time actually sitting in the fuselage--pretty cool, but they'll be a lot more comfortable with cushions!
