Brief Description:  Upper skins and misc shop prep

Mostly odds and ends today. I started with the forward top skin and after a bit of wrangling, got it in place and drilled final. This task was compounded by the fact that I had already riveted the F-665 gussets attaching the forward bulkhead to the longeron. This meant that there was no fore/aft movement of the bulkhead and it took some careful tapping to get everything lined up.

Following this, I inserted the aftmost bulkhead and drilled it in place. Then I moved forward to test fit the steps. In order to make the steps fit I'm going to have to take off about 3/16' off of each end of the tube, and then must also trim the flange to fit the fuselage curve. I'm trying to figure out the best way to cut this steel so I decided to stop on this for now and moved to a different project.

To close out the day, I headed back to the house, got the horizontal stab from its long-time home (hanging from the ceiling in the garage) and took it back out to the hangar. Then I constructed a large work table that will allow me to rivet wing skins on when the time comes. All for this session.
