Brief Description:  Right fuel tank prep

The T-712 bracket arrived on Wednesday...10 minutes into my work session, I was back on the computer ordering another one from Van's. So today I decided to do some work that wouldn't involve drilling holes in a T-712 bracket. I started by making the T-711 stiffeners from the stock provided. Van's makes this process very simple--instead of just sending some angle stock, the actually punch the stock at various points along the length, then the builder simply "connects the dots" and cuts from one punch to another to make the part. It greatly simplifies (and speeds up) the process. After making the stiffeners, I clecoed them into the tank skin and match drilled them. Then I placed the skin on the spar to check fit--that all looked good, so I removed the skin and attached the ribs. Once the ribs were in place, I drilled through the rib/baffle/T-712 brackets with a drill stop on a #30 drill bit. Once the new Z bracket arrives, I'll measure twice before drilling, then I'll be ready to assemble the tank for drilling, dimpling, and final assembly.
