Brief Description:  Right wing assembly

Today was a big day with regards to progress on the right wing. It's amazing how much you can accomplish when you just plug away at it! I started the day by match drilling the top skins to the spar and ribs. While not very exciting, the process is necessary to ensure the rivet holes are the proper size. After finishing the top skins, I moved around the back and did the same to the bottom skins. This whole process took about 3 1/2 hours and was interrupted while I took a break to watch the F-15 demo flight at our local airport...the best view was from the backyard!! Once I got back to work, I finished up the match drilling and then began fitting the leading edge ribs into the skin. The cradle I built for the left wing was once again put back into service...kind of nice to not have to stop to build a cradle--another time saver! Once the leading edge was assembled, onto the spar it went, and I began fitting the splice plate that connects the inboard edge of the leading edge to the outboard edge of the fuel tank. Aside from some minor fit issues, that went smoothly and I finished by match drilling the leading edge. That means only one thing...the fuel tank is next. I'll get started on the tank with the next session, but hopefully can hold off on ProSealing until it cools off a bit...we'll see.
