Brief Description:  Finished leading edge

Today was the day to permanently attach the left wing leading edge. I had done some research regarding the rib/spar web rivet challenges, and had decided to go with the "alternate" method of using blind rivets where I couldn't get the rivet set (basically everywhere but on the most outboard rib). I use the term alternate because the plans call for AN470 rivets--no option for blind rivets. But based on the number of builders who have contacted Van's, and the fact that I would probably ruin my spar by drilling so many bad rivets, I decided to just go with the blind rivets...good choice. After getting the ribs attached, the skins were a breeze with the pneumatic squeezer. After getting the leading edge on, I bolted the tank in place, then re-attached the top skins. We'll see if I can get some help tomorrow and get the top skins on.
