Brief Description:  Fuel quantity wiring, brake line installation, etc

Today I continued the process of finishing the many small tasks that still remain before first flight. Items accomplished today included:

•Attached the capacitance fuel sensor wiring on left & right tanks. This involved the usual schematic study (tough to find I might add), cutting, stripping, crimping, securing, etc. There is no way to ops check this until I actually add fuel, so for now that is done.
•Torqued both forward fuel tank bolts and added safety wires.
•Secured brake lines to main gear legs and tightened all external fittings. I’m evaluating the necessity of replacing the bolts shipped with the brakes to change over to bolts with drilled heads in order to safety wire them. It seems that if Matco doesn’t require safety wires, I wouldn’t need them…but most brake applications I’ve seen incorporate that extra step for security.
•Removed the temporary screws attaching the comm and GPS antenna and replaced with stainless steel.
•Began the process of installing the pitot tube and associated wiring and plumbing. I didn’t get much more than an initial fitting to see what obstacles I face. The primary challenge is going to be securing the pitot & static tubing as it passes the aileron bellcrank, so I’m going to have to think a bit about how to accomplish that.
