Brief Description:  Wiring, pitot & AOA installation

I split up the sessions today due to an early afternoon basketball game, so for the first few hours I focused on finishing up the mid-cabin wiring and then reinstalled the seat floors. During the process of working on this part, I became a bit concerned that I had not torqued the seatbelt attach bolts prior to installing the baggage floors, so I bit the bullet and removed the floors for inspection. As things often go, I couldn’t remove two of the screws, so the whole process slowed to a crawl while I extracted those by drilling out the screws and the two nut plates and then reinstalling. I took advantage of having all of the floors out by double checking everything, tidying up the wire bundles, reattaching another nut plate and then vacuuming it all. I also drilled a ½” hole and added a snap bushing to allow the flap wires to exit from under the seat floor. Once that was done, I reinstalled both the baggage floors and the seat floors. Oh…and the seat belt attachments were torqued properly.

The second session focused on trying to figure out how to get the pitot and AOA lines from the gear weldment up to the aft panel. The forums have scant information on how others have done this, and there is really no good way to run these without having them either fully visible or running too close to the rudder cables or rubbing on structure somewhere. In the end, I decided to run a length of conduit up the side and use that to both secure the tubing, but also to keep it looking a little more finished. While it worked fine, it does look a bit “industrial” so I may elect to put a simple cover over it later.
