I finally sat down at the computer and mapped out my main power distribution and bus assignments. The process has actually been ongoing for awhile, but I decided to get it down on paper so I could make sure I had thought of everything. I'm no electrical engineer, but the system is pretty basic, and asided from a few tweaks to help the installation process go a little easier, I didn't stray too far from the norm. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to install a standby alternator...but I'm going to run the wires just in case I do.
I ran out to the hangar to take a quick inventory of wire and connectors. As luck would have it, my drawings (and the associated wires) are for a 35 amp alternator, but today's systems need a lot more power, so everything now ships with a 60 amp alternator. In other words...I need all new supply wires...
