Brief Description:  Brake lines and covers

I had an early morning run out to the hangar with the hopes of finishing up the plumbing today. Yesterday when I left, I had run the ¼” tubing from the fuselage exit point, back through the center tunnel, and over to the firewall fittings. All that was left to do was make a few adjustments and flare each end.

While flaring tubing isn’t all that difficult in and of itself, the fact that it must be done while laying prone, with various gear weldments and other fuselage parts in the way, does add a measure of complexity to the exercise. I was able to get a satisfactory flare on all four ends, and when the last one was tightened, I looked around and realized that the plumbing was finished. Unless I add a lavatory or put a galley in this thing, I’m done with plumbing!

I spent the rest of the session fiddling with the covers. I’m not very happy with the way one of the covers interferes with the fuel lines, and my “fix” is less than desirable. Even though I’m done with plumbing, I may still go back and figure out a better way to get from the selector to the pump…there has to be a way to do it without cutting a hole in a cover.
